Capture streaming media from your browser
Kastor Free Video Catcher enables you to download online videos from almost any website, including Dailymotion, Megavideo, LastFM etc.
Once you start the capture mode, the program will automatically capture any streaming media that you are watching in your web browser, no need to copy and paste the URL. You can configure the program to ignore small (advertising) clips and set a default directory to save your files.
Free Video Catcher uses WinPcap (included with the download) to capture streams from your browser.

Easy to use video catcher works well and grabs ALL video clips off a website. PLus has a option to rename video file from default to a new name , while downloding the file. Plus a built in player to view video as it is downloading |

Well, it captures video as it says but I've found that if there is a video playing and say a commercial prior to it, it would capture the commercial and not recognize the video. (I did set it to try and ignore ads or commercials, no love) I would stop the capture, restart but it would still not see the actual video regardless of settings. It captured basic flv, or videos from YouTube but I ask, what CAN'T get videos from YouTube?
For the most part, it does capture videos so it's no loss to use this and is fairly decent but I haven't found anything (aside from the layout) that sets this aside from other video capture utilities. Still worth a try and free. |
