Paris descended into chaos during the Fête de la Musique, with widespread violence, vandalism, and mob attacks reported across several districts.

According to police and eyewitness accounts, groups of young men carried out sexual assaults, robberies, and attacks on bystanders and police officers. 

Many officers reported being outnumbered and targeted with bottles, fireworks, and other projectiles.
