A sleeping giant has awakened in Kamchatka — the first-ever recorded eruption of the Krasheninnikov volcano has begun
The volcano is erupting for the first time since scientists began monitoring it.
The Institute of Volcanology (FEB RAS) confirmed volcanic activity, including ash emissions, seismic events, and possible lava flows.
At the same time, an aftershock was recorded in the Pacific Ocean, with a small tsunami expected to reach the region.
